Intelligence In The Conservative Party?

Richard North, EU Referendum, posts on the stupidity of a statement by Ed Miliband who is the Secretary of State for the Environment & Energy 'Con', the policies of which are being inflicted upon us. Richard ends his post with a question; "By the way, who or what is a Gene Hunt? Nothing to do with the search for intelligence in the Conservative Party, I assume."

For Richard's benefit, Gene Hunt is one of the fictional characters in a BBC series about the police force during the 1980's. Had Richard been an avid tv fan he would be aware that the first series was called 'Life on Mars' and the second, 'Ashes to Ashes'.

Understandably, not knowing the background to the series, it could have been assumed the first series was about political goings-on at Westminster and the second about the end of the present parliament!
