Anniversary of a day that will live in infamy!

On 6th December 2005 a member of parliament, who had only been elected 4 years earlier, became Leader of his party and, therefore consequently, of Her Majesty's Official Opposition.

Unfortunately this is a date which does not feature in the public's consciousness, which is rather baffling - have we lost our ability to recognise national disasters?

This man made a pig's ear of opposition and it now becomes obvious that he was practising for when he achieved government.

It, also rather unfortunately, demonstrates one defect in our democratic system - having watched 5 years of failure, the voters then elect him!
