Equality & Diversity

According to the Telegraph a raft of new schemes will shortly be presented, aimed at promoting equality for homosexuals, such as recruiting more openly gay candidates to become MPs and making workplaces “gay-friendly”. Exactly how does one make a workplace "gay-friendly"? So being a homosexual, lesbian or of the trans-gender minority is a qualification for becoming an MP? Why cannot these people succeed as a result of their talents, rather than the fact they are different?

Personally, I have nothing against homosexuals, lesbians or those of trans-gender - each to their own -  however what I do object to is having their beliefs thrust down my throat. If they are not ashamed of their proclivities, why do they use a word that has nothing to do with the subject in question - and please don't tell me it is because they are happy! I am quite happy being in the majority, ie heterosexual, but I don't go round eliciting sympathy or special attention because of that.

It really is a queer world in which we now live!

Be happy that it is only their beliefs they want to thrust down your throat...could be worse
