Cameron In Thurrock

As mentioned in the previous post, David Cameron has been offering his wisdom hare-brained ideas to the faithful.

"Look at the state of our society and the social problems that we face, whether it's crime or anti social behaviour, whether it's family breakdown. We need change to bring the big society to build a stronger society." In one form or another all the problems aforementioned can be traced back to our membership and subservience to the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights.

"Think about the need to reform our immigration system where it's only the Conservatives who are saying we need to have a cap on immigration......." Not a bloody word pointing out that this only refers to immigration from outside the EU - not one word! Migration Watch state that since 1997 the UK has had 3 million immigrants - there is one still arriving every minute!

"We know in the Conservative Party that the people are the master, the politicians are the servant." Really Dave? So how come, if we are the master, you tell us that we can't start up a grammar school and receive funding? How come it is you that tell us we cannot have a referendum on our country's membership of the EU? How come it is you that informs us we must continue to fight in Afghanistan? How come we will be able to choose parliamentary candidates, but only from amongst those applicants that you have selected?

"......this is a changed Conservative Party." Tut, tut Dave, you really should use spell-checker. Had you done so it would have read 'Cameron Party', as the party you lead sure as f'ing hell ain't 'Conservative'!

A Phrase To Chill The Blood

David Cameron, speaking in Thurrock today:

"get the voluntary section, get the experts in to help get Britain back to work."

Get the experts in?? FFS, That will just make matters worse and as for the voluntary section - thought he was going to get rid of all the 'fake' charities?

Can we believe anything this man says??

Shock Horror! LibDems Accused Of Misleading

According to the BBC, it has come to light that a leaflet put out by the LibDems in Cardiff North to promote their candidate John Dixon, portrays him talking to a nurse who it is now known is a LibDem employee. The Tory Assembly Member, Jonathan Morgan, wants an apology to his constituents and all nurses working in Cardiff, whilst castigating the LibDems for deliberately misleading voters and is joined by a Welsh Labour spokesperson who also considers it 'bad form'.

This form of 'faux' outrage is sooo passe (apologies, but don't know how to insert 'accents' in blogger) and does not, one hopes, fool anyone (other than the majority of the electorate, that is). Consider though: Are not the Lib/lab/Con guilty of deliberately misleading the electorate? Are not all three guilty of hiding the fact their hands are tied on any policy they wish to introduce, due to our membership of the EU, on for example immigration and energy? Are not all three guilty of misleading the electorate by their denial of any other party standing in the general election? Are not all three guilty of misdemeanours with expenses and for not deselecting candidates who broke the spirit of the rules, regardless of the amount involved?

By their deliberate obfuscation and banality the political elite today are also guilty of ensuring the electorate are so disillusioned with politics that they do not take any further interest. Because of this the electorate no longer think or question what they are told, which only serves to imbed, even more, the tribal voting that is now the norm.

The following youtube video may well be a spoof, for all I know, but one hears answers like this in the street every day. When we, as a country, can produce someone who asks "What does constituency mean?" (and can't even pronounce the word constituency correctly) then we know the country really is doomed!

Were The Majority Like This Candidate

Philip Davies, standing in Shipley, has a home page on his website which should be required reading for all candidates of the Lib/Lab/Con.

"If re-elected as your MP, Philip will continue to campaign for prisoners to serve their sentences in full, continue to campaign vigorously against damaging political correctness, and work for your interests, not self-interest and not accept any promotion as a Minister."

"If re-elected, I pledge to:

Always put your interests before self-interest
Always be honest about my views on issues even if they differ from Party policy
Always be available so you can see me or speak to me at a time and place convenient to you
Hold regular advice surgeries across the whole constituency
Keep in touch with your priorities through regular surveys, and I will personally read and reply to everyone
Work hard on your behalf all of the time, not just at election time
Never accept a promotion so that I can always be free to speak up on your behalf" 

Go read as further comment from me is unnecessary.

What Choice?

Gerald Warner once again hits the proverbial nail on the head with his latest post when he writes: "Expanding the election from a two-party to a three-party contest has brought no increase in choice. That suggests this election may be a staging post to an electoral revolution that, next time we go to the polls, will promote the minor parties to major contention."

In repeating Nigel Farage's line about the electorate's inability to put a cigarette paper between them, Gerald Warner echoes the plaintive cry of the electorate - "what choice?" By 'freezing' out any participation by the SNP, Plaid Cymru and UKIP the Lib/Lab/Con have ensured that their censorial hold on the lack of political choice remains.

It is this lack of choice that the Lib/Lab/Con have managed to impose on the electorate that has caused the disinterest in politics. Why take an interest when there is no choice?

Post Mortem On The 'Debate'

Well the highlight has to be Cameron's resurrecting the 'Hague line' of being in Europe but not run by Europe.

It comes as no surprise therefore that an intelligent unintelligent man cannot grasp the fact that you can't be 'in' the bloody EU without being 'run' by the bloody EU!

C'mon Dave, get a grip - it is not exactly 'rocket science'!

Thirsk & Malton Candidate Dies

The UKIP candidate, John Boakes, for the above constituency has died and the election in that seat has now been postponed until 27th May.

Needless to say condolences are extended to his family.

The Second Leaders 'Debate'

Whether this will be worth watching we shall of course not know until afterwards. Much has been written in the media about the fact the EU will be one of the subjects covered in foreign affairs. How much disagreement there will be between three party leaders who all wish to remain a member of this odious body we shall see. Open Europe have produced a Briefing Note encapsulating a summary of the parties' basic position on EU policy, consequently when one sees there is no real fundamental difference in the Lib/Lab/Con policies it would seem there is little room for disagreement.

It will also be interesting to see what percentage of the allotted time is devoted to the 'EU question', when compared to say the replacement of Trident. As Richard North intimates in this post, how discussing our real government, in Brussels, can be considered 'foreign affairs' does rather make the mind boggle, especially when one considers that we are now part of a United States of Europe. As has been said previously on this blog, were Nigel Farage one of those at the lecturns then we could really have a debate - which would of course result in Cameron, Brown and Clegg looking even bigger fools than they appear at present!

A Little Light Relief From Political Trickery

Purely as a diversion, the following which I have nicked from nourishingobscurity. Always have been a sucker for magic and always will be.

Political Chicanery?

Ed West posts on a report just issued, three weeks before a general election, that suggests the idea to negate the BNP is to allow more immigration! The fact that the producers of the report are the Institute for Public Policy Research, a left-wing think-tank that receives large amounts of public dosh wonga back-handers money should produce such a report just now is, of course, a mere coincidence.

Stand by for a report from a right-wing think tank that suggests the Big Society is the cure of all evils!

Spin? Where?

Fine Words Indeed, But......

Daniel Hannan posts on a conversation with a Polish friend and life under the regimes of Jabłoński and Jaruzelski and how this changed with the election of a Polish Pope, Hannan's friend offering sound words of advice:

"People tend to forget something about John Paul II. He never criticised the Communist authorities directly. He didn’t need to. He just offered something better."

The problem comes when those offering 'something better' are ignored by the 'ruling' regime and the media, when the latter combine to ensure that 'something better' does not reach the ears of the people and in so doing ensures that debate is negated. 

Some may well argue that the message of 'something better' did eventually succeed in Poland, but that country was living under a tyrannical regime whereas our country is supposed to be a democracy. Let us just hope that we do not have to experience the decades of struggle that Poland experienced, before we too escape the tyrannical regime that our current political elite wish to condemn us.

Cameron's 2nd Political Election Broadcast

In the above, to be screened tonight, Cameron asks "What does it take to change a country". Repeating his 'idea' of The Big Society, he reiterates all the arguments that have been heard previously. Most notably, Cameron does not mention spineless politicians - who are content to give away, without asking the electorate, Britain's ability to be a self-governing nation.

Odd, when one considers that is all it has taken to change our country for the worse!

Time To Change? Go Cameron, Just Go!

David Cameron, leader of Not-The-Tory-Party, has opened his mouth again this morning detailing a 'bottom-up' approach to government - and in so doing making an arse of himself. (Well, he mentioned 'bottom' first!) Addressing an audience of community leaders, voluntary organisations and small business owners in South London, we get this:

"First of all, are we going to have real leadership that will bring change in our country......" to which the answer is no, because as more and more powers are assumed by the EU any government in this country will be a government in name only. This blog, amongst many others, has highlighted the impending 'power-grabs' that are on the horizon and if our politicos haven't realised that then they need to change their sources of information!

Cameron, talking about his 'Big Society', says: "Take any subject you want to and you can see that the Conservatives' idea of the Big Society, not the big bossy state but the Big Society.....". Right then Dave, lets take education - you are advocating parents assuming some form of 'control' over the schools their children attend, but only if it is a state school. Is that not 'the big bossy state' talking? Dave says that we must retain our membership of the EU, yet refuses to allow the British people a referendum on whether they wish to remain in the EU. Is that not also 'the big bossy state' talking?

Cameron talks about taxes, national debt and small businesses - is he unaware of this*? If Cameron does not want a 'big bossy state' situation then why the bloody hell are we still in the EU? FFS!

Finally Cameron poses the question: "..look what we can achieve for our party, and now look what we can achieve for our country.". Yes Dave, we have seen what you have achieved for your party - you have exerted an iron control over it and your candidates, to the extent both party and candidates must do your bidding. In other words, in changing your party you have also wrecked it - and we don't want you wrecking our country - at least, any more than it is already!

Quote Of The Day

David Cameron - The Big Chief of The Big Society - said, in a speech today:

"For decades, politicians in this country have basically been treating the British public like a bunch of mugs."

You still are Dave, you still are!

No Change There Then!

Sarah Teather has issued a statement, one which it is presumed has St. Nick's blessing, on the LibDem's attitude to 'Europe' (In case it had escaped our political elite, 'Europe' is a continent - not a country*).

What is all too apparent, from the musings of young Ms. Teather, is that the Libdems also do not accept that decisions affecting how we are governed should be made by the British people - not by a bunch of self-important, self-serving nonentities!

Oh, and she also fails to recognise that when the EU decides to impose the euro 'across the board', a LibDem government, like any other whilst we retain our membership, would just have to accept it! 

While any normal person shudders at the thought of the LibDems having any participation in the governance of Britain (think back, those old enough, to the Callaghan LibLab pact), the thought that a politician of the likes of Teather might hold ministerial office totally numbs the brain!


* What is so hard about the letters 'EU' that politicians avoid using them at all costs?

How Can The People Decide?

Alistair Darling is quoted by Politics Home as saying that the people will decide who forms the next government.

That would be true if the people were being presented with all the facts on which to make a judgement. It would also be true if all the political parties contending the election were allowed the same 'air-time' as the Lib/Lab/Con. Another deficit in the ability of the people to make an informed choice is the lack of equal coverage of all the political parties by the MSM.

What this demonstrates is yet another facet of the 'stitch-up' of our politics that the Lib/Lab/Con continue to perpetuate in the name of democracy. And the sad point about this is that the electorate do not appear to realise that they are 'being taken for a ride'!

Wrong Target, BBC

Biased BBC has a report on The World This Weekend concerning a story involving UKIP (link to the programme contained with the report).

Perhaps, if as is intimated, the reporter wished to highlight a party that does not know what it is doing, perhaps he might wish to turn his 'fire' onto the Lib/Lab/Con? How about asking them how, if they wish to promote democracy, they all wish to remain a member of an undemocratic body as is the European Union? How about he asks them why, if they wish to devolve power to the people, they don't devolve to local authorities everything devolved to Scotland? How about he asks them why, if the leaders debate was supposed to inform the electorate, it was necessary to rehearse the debate? How about he askes them why, when discussing immigration, they don't be open with the electorate and actually state they cannot control immigration from member states? How about asking them why, through their 'Whip' system, they place party before country when voting on matters affecting our country? How about asking them why, with few exceptions - so few they can be counted on one hand - the vast majority of their candidates have not signed the Albion Alliance Pledge?

How about this reporter and producer of the programme gets a P45 for a programme that is totally unacceptable from an organisation that is supposed to promote balanced news output?

The Pretentious Air

Following the emergency meeting with Gordon Brown regarding the Icelandic 'Ash' problem, the Foy Boy says:

"The government's primary concern is to the safety of passengers. We need to take independent scientific advice."

Not a word about this, then!

Don't know why the meeting took so long - one call to HQ in Brussels. Can we fly yet? No? Oh alright, whatever you say Boss.

Cameron Speak With Forked Tongue!

On the basis that the elderly are far more inclined to vote, like his opponents David Cameron is 'after' that section of the electorate's vote. It is a great pity then that the Big Chief of the Big Society says one thing while doing another!

"Yes, to treat them with respect and kindness. Yes, to give them the dignity and security they deserve...."

The article also reports that: "Mr Cameron said that Gordon Brown had “failed in his duty” to make sure that pensioners were provided for financially, that their healthcare was secure and that they could live with “dignity”.

If Cameron wishes to give the elderly 'the dignity and security they deserve', if he wishes to ensure that 'they could live with dignity', one has to ask why he is in favour of the 'un-ring-fencing' of the central government Supporting People grant - a grant which pays for 'support' of people both elderly and those in need. 

One section of our communities that are specifically suffering, as a result of the Supporting People grant not being ring-fenced, are those in sheltered housing. As a result of Labour's decision - and one which Cameron is totally in favour of, confirmed by him to me personally - Wardens in sheltered housing are being dispensed with. Invariably the elderly in Sheltered Accommodation are in their 80s and 90s with no living family, or family that are some distance away, even abroad. As a result a permanent Warden becomes, to residents, a friend, confidant and someone to talk to each day.

In Oxfordshire, as across the country, Wardens are being dispensed with and what is known as 'Floating Support' is being introduced purely as a cost-cutting exercise by local authorities who can now spend this Supporting People grant in other areas. This means that residents in sheltered housing now see someone maybe once a week, if not longer, and that it does not necessarily mean they will see the same person all the time.

It is disgraceful that our politicians seem content to 'support' illegal immigrants, support those whose only desire is to impose Sharia law on Britain and support other sundry 'undesirables', yet care not a jot about the support needed by 'our' elderly. What is also disgraceful is that Britain's requirement to support those illegal immigrants, those wanting Sharia law and all the other sundry 'undesirables' is due to our country's subservience to the EU and the ECHR - and we, the people, cannot do anything about it, regardless of which of the Lib/Lab/Con are elected.

So much for 'our' government!
