In an article with the headline 'Royal Mail rebels spurn Brown's concessions' (for which I seem unable to find a link), Melissa Kite and Rebecca Castle quote Gordon Brown saying:
"I think we all recognise that the Royal Mail, which is part of the fabric of our country, faces huge challenges."
Every newspaper, now and again, misquotes and/or misprints and this is surely a case in point. Should not this quote have read:
"I think we all recognise that the whole fabric of our country faces huge challenges."
Ah, that is better - and nearer the truth.
Yes Gordon and you caused them - you and Blair.
We managed, unfortunately not through our own endeavours, to get rid of Blair, so that just leaves you!
