CRB vs ISA?

One of the reasons for the creation of the Independent Safeguarding Authority is the fact it is stated that rather than having a Criminal Records Bureau CRB) check each time they take a new post, they need just one check, which is for life, from the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).

Today we read of the case involving a 39 year old married religious education teacher who embarked on an affair with one of her 15 year old pupils.

Presumably this woman would have had to undergo a CRB check?

So the difference between a CRB check and an ISA check, in this case, would have been.......?

Just a thought............
