Missing The Point

Nick Robinson posts from onboard Eurostar, whilst en-route to Brussels, to report on the EU leader's dinner.

Posing the question 'What if DC were PM' and what would Cameron prefer during his first months as Prime Minister, an argument with the EU or one with his Eurosceptic MPs - a case could be made that both would be just as damaging.

However, more important - and unstated by Nick Robinson - is the fact that, without the promised referendum, regardless of ratification, Cameron's moral right to 'govern' would be in complete 'tatters'.

Surely, if it can be argued, as Cameron does, that Lisbon will have/has 'passed too much power to the EU', then that reason remains, whether Lisbon is ratified or not!
