Reported in the Telegraph, an MEP who donated £150 for the football kit of a youth side in Brighton has been informed that his sponsorship is 'unacceptable'.
Nigel Farage, the MEP in question, was not amused.
A spokesman for the club, Hangleton Rangers Youth Football Club, said "As an FA affiliated club we have to abide by certain rules and as such the FA are very strict about what sponsor's details appear on any club shirts worn by the players."
Having taken a look at the FA website and their rules on kit regulations, regarding sponsors names, it would be interesting to know the detail of the objection as it would appear illogical that the name in question differs from that of, for example, 'Chang', 'Garmin', 'Samsung' or 'Boylesports'.
Unacceptable Kit Instruction Procedure would appear to be the problem to a children's football team not getting the new kit they require.
If they are correct, maybe the officials of the club really do know FA!
