A story in today's print edition of the Daily Telegraph (can't find a link) relates that Dr. Andy Stanford-Clark, an engineer and inventor for IBM, has fitted his cottage (Grade 1 of course) with hundreds of sensors and connected them to Twitter.
He enthuses that it is a bit of a showcase for technology and is quoted as saying "Recently I was out and got a tweet saying that water usage was higher than normal. I phoned home and my wife looked out of the window to see the garden hose had been left on."
Setting to one side his wife's apparent inability to know what is happening around her, a more disturbing thought arises.
PS: Have now found link to this story.
