Brown Misquoted?

In an article with the headline 'Royal Mail rebels spurn Brown's concessions' (for which I seem unable to find a link), Melissa Kite and Rebecca Castle quote Gordon Brown saying:

"I think we all recognise that the Royal Mail, which is part of the fabric of our country, faces huge challenges."

Every newspaper, now and again, misquotes and/or misprints and this is surely a case in point. Should not this quote have read:

"I think we all recognise that the whole fabric of our country faces huge challenges."

Ah, that is better - and nearer the truth.

Yes Gordon and you caused them - you and Blair.

We managed, unfortunately not through our own endeavours, to get rid of Blair, so that just leaves you!

Didn't he round off that by adding "... the bits of that fabric which we haven't torn apart yet, of course."
