The Cost Involved in Financing The Unknown

An interesting article in the Telegraph today on the 'environmental' industry in South Dakota shows a few facts which must have an impact, as it probably applies to other countries, on the ability to meet 'green' targets.

"After the US wind industry's capacity grew by 50 per cent – and some $17 billion – in 2008, trade organisations are now predicting it could shrink by 30 to 50 per cent this year.Around 18 banks and other lenders were financing wind and solar projects before the economic meltdown. Now, there are only four."

So if the companies who are producing the means to meet these 'target' are declining and cutting back on production.......? Whoops!

A separate article in the print edition (no link) states that 'research' show household bills will soar to pay for climate change; that rising temperatures would not just affect polar bears and ice caps but also result in an increase in the cost of living.

Climate change, global warming? Listen: here in Oxfordshire it is March and its damn cold!
