Government 'Hydra'

With all the talk and argument twixt Labour and the Conservatives about who is going to cut what and by how much, perhaps anyone looking to 'cut' unproductive and worthless organisations should start looking at this lot!

Government is akin to the mythical Hydra in that, instead of cutting off a head, with government you find one head and then discover it has grown two more and each of those has grown two more - ad infinitum.

One shudders to think how many of those mentioned in the linked list are 'fake-charities', but again I digress as what is interesting is:

"A key output of the seminar will be a transcript of the proceedings,............It is made available subject to strict restrictions on public use........"!

In other words, whilst we, the public, are paying the salaries of this bunch of bureaucrats it seems we are not allowed to know what they have discussed! Welcome to the 'post-democratic age' to use one of Little Lord Fauntleroy's phrases!
