Yet another story in the print edition of the Telegraph for which there appears to be no on-line link available. A former Navy officer, ex-commander Graham Woodworth was jailed for two and a half years yesterday for defrauding the NHS out of £175,000 to pay for his gambling addiction.
It is worth noting that previously he had served four months and been discharged from the service in 1996 after falsely claiming £21,000 in housing allowance to fund spending at casinos and bookmakers. This begs the question how he was employed by the NHS - references, checking of cv, etc?
Anyway, £175,000 is peanuts when compared with the £billions that Gordon Brown, his government and MPs have defrauded from the people of this country!
