Nigel Farage At The Oxford Libertarian Society

At the end of October Nigel Farage was invited to speak to the OLS on the subject of 'Too Much Government: Westminster and Brussels' and a video of this meeting, comprising a 20 minute talk and 60 minutes of Question & Answer, can be viewed here.

At one point Nigel Farage makes an interesting point - when remembering the EU talks about, amongst other things, the inviolable and inalienable rights of freedom and democracy - that as members of the EU we are subject to every law that emanates from Brussels. More importantly - and this is very important - there is nothing that you, as a voter can do, in a subsequent general election, to change any particular law.

That is democracy?

Did you detect any spin, or any overt lies in the whole 80 minutes?

I could not. I do like this guy, and I think if everyone watched the whole video they would understand this mess so much better.

CR,

He does have a bit of a fan club. Afterwards, outside having a smoke he was virtually mobbed by around 20/30 of the audience with supplementary questions and chat! That says it all really where NF is concerned.

He's a crowd pleaser, that much is obvious. Let's hope Lord P can do the same.

I am praying that Nigel slaughters Bercow. If anyone deserves to win it's Nigel, and if anyone deserves to lose, it's Bercow.

I agree. He's such a natural. Fantastic video (which I've nicked, of course).
