Andrew Pierce in the Telegraph makes a good point and in so doing instils an element of hope for the country, nay for the world.
Noting that Gordon Brown must have felt great relief as the first of his 19 standing ovations rippled across Congress, Andrew imagines Iain Duncan Smith felt the same way when his party conference speech in 2003 was punctuated by 18 ovations.
