New Poet Laureate

So Carol Ann Duffy is the new Poet Laureate - or in this politically correct world in which we now live - should that be Poet Laureatess?

Poets Laureate are appointed by the government so is it any wonder this appointment, by a politically correct government, is of a lesbian - and therefore obviously a woman - and, in keeping with the ethnic composition of the present government, is also a Scot - what a surprise!

Give me Pam Ayres any day - at least her offerings contain humour and also rhyme!
