Waste Of Money - Level Of Interest By MEPs

Currently there is a petition circulating amongst the 785 MEPs to end the 'traveling circus' of moving the European parliament between Brussels and Strasbourg which costs €203million per annum (and wastes 20,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide - for those on the co2 'bandwagon').

So far only 235 MEPs have signed the petition, with 393 signatories required for the petition to be successful. Open Europe reports that "as of last week, not one French MEP out of 78 had signed the declaration. In contrast, 15 out of 19 Swedish MEPs had signed, and 11 out of 14 Danish MEPs. Only 51 out of 78 UK MEPs had signed the declaration."
