With firms shedding workers due to the economic climate, the government is to pay them to take on workers through 'apprentice' or 'internship' schemes.
This latest 'idea' (and one hesitates to use the word as it implies the posssession of a brain) will use taxpayers money to tempt companies to take on workers - to replace workers that they cannot afford or do not have jobs for?
Other than this being yet another method of ensuring the jobless total is kept artificially low it taxes one's ingenuity to try and understand it.
