Cure For Scurvy Older Than First Thought?

I see in the Telegraph print edition that a cure for scurvy was found years earlier than previously thought, by a woman. A newly discovered book written by Ebot Mitchell in 1707 includes a remedy of plant extracts and orange juice, 46 years before physician James Lind realised vitamin C could cure the condition. One of the characteristics of the disease is the opening of previously healed wounds.

Doesn't seem to work viz-a-viz Labour Governments - does it?
