No - the heading is not a 'typo'!
It would appear from a report in today's Sunday Telegraph that the Speaker and his staff have been working extremely hard. The article informs us that a Freedom of Information request shows that their taxi bill has risen, in four years, from £215,204 to £445,565!
As the Sunday Telegraph points out, this is puzzling in that the number of late sittings has decreased over the same period.
Unless of course Mrs. Martin has been shopping more often and in so doing 'quantatively easing' the physical effort involved?
