Self Help - Bureaucrat Style

An article in the Sunday Times has been highlighted by the Taxpayers Alliance.

It would seem that if you happen to work for a local authority and feel your talents are not appreciated you can always seek 'solace' in er.......Solace (Society Of Local Authority Chief Executives).

Serving council employees are operating a consultancy/recruitment company - a company which it is reported receives fees of £20,000 to head hunt chief executives and to recommend salary levels.

Solace Enterprise Health, for example, offer in their courses the expertise of a wide range of associates, with extensive health experience, who are currently working within NHS organisations.

On the basis that the existing council employees, likewise the associates currently working within the NHS, do not offer their services for nothing, it would be interesting to see a copy of their Annual Report & Annual Accounts.

Surprise, surprise, nothing on their website - in fact inputting either of those two subjects into their search engine generates advice that the page cannot be found and one is referred to their Head of Communications.

So -  off has gone a request!
