A Cure For The Country's Ills?

Cranmer has a long post today on the subject of Englishness. One section of that amused me and which, - as there is so much 'doom and gloom' around and a little 'tongue in cheek' humour might be welcome - taken slightly out of context, could well solve the problems we have in this country today in respect of race relations.

Firstly consider the original make up of the United Kingdom - before some idiot opened the front door and let everyone in. There were originally four kinds of people in this country: the Scots who kept the Sabbath - and everything else they could lay their hands on; the Welsh who prayed on their knees - and their neighbours; the Irish who never knew what they wanted - but were willing to fight for it anyway; and lastly, the English who considered themselves self-made men, - which whilst annoying the Scots, Irish and Welsh no end, relieved the Almighty of a terrible responsibility.

Now, if everyone else just buggered off and left us to continue fighting amongst ourselves................

Problem solved!

Ack: Cranmer whose post, in all seriousness, is well worth a read.
