With the recent speech by Gordon Brown at the TUC, the sound-bite on the wireless news at present is:
"cut costs, cut inefficiencies, cut unnecessary programmes and cut lower priority budgets."
In which case:
Why have costs been allowed to grow?
Why have inefficiences been tolerated?
Why have unnecessary programmes been created and allowed to continue?
What exactly are 'lower priority budgets'?
As usual with present-day politicians - one hell of a lot of words without actually saying anything!
