Not having seen this reported anywhere - MSM or blogosphere - this story came to my attention via Big Brother Watch. It was also covered, briefly, by the Metro:
Whilst a police force searching the web for information on crime is understandable, likewise criticism of the police, it is the possible outcome that is of a worrying nature, likewise of this action being undertaken by other 'state' organisations, both examples which could result in the stifling of open debate on the internet. Note the quote in the Metro 'snippet' given above: 'hunting down people who criticise the force's work'. And when they find them?
