Just Stick To Your Job!

So a large beach party (unathorised) gets banned prompting Plod, in the shape of Chief Inspector David Felton, to issue this statement:
"We fully back the injunction to stop this event going ahead, which we feel would have a negative impact on the local community....."
Err and the Act of Parliament which allows Plod to express an opinion about how they feel in respect of a political decision is........?

It is the function of Plod to uphold the law, not to condone or otherwise and to then express an opinion.

Got that Plod?

And what if 1,000 people gathered on the beach on a normal sunny day - you know, ordinary money spending holidaymakers. Would they constitute a "large unauthorised gathering"???

Why not close ALL beaches, in case someone falls in the water...

Exactly md, where does one draw a line in the sand? (pun intended)

It is all about 'control'! Mind you, would there be room on the beach as the council and police seem to have their heads firmly buried in the sand!

Neo-puritan Police Chiefs need to be elected not politically emplaced.

After 13 years there needs to be a thorough cull, and a test that new Police Chiefs can understand Peels 9 rules.

Well said. I hope those who need to be enlightened in these matters also read this blog. Somehow, I doubt that they do.
