Heffer Hits The Nail On The Head - Again!

Simon Heffer, writing in the Telegraph, has an article well worth savouring, purely for the truths it states.
"How much longer is the disfranchised Right of the Tory party going to endure such humiliations and contempt before it remembers that it, too, has a mandate? The two-decades-old faultlines probably cannot be repaired. Perhaps Mr Cameron does feel more comfortable in the company of Mr Clegg and his "pragmatic" Leftists. But if he does, where does that leave the rest of his party? For, believe me, Ireland is not going to be the final test of their indulgence."
This article reiterates what I have been maintaining for some time; that (a) Cameron is intent on the creation of a new party, the Liberal Conservative Party; and (b) it really is time for the 'so-called' Eurosceptic members of the Conservative Party to 'put up' or 'shut up'! If those Conservative MPs really believed in Conservative principles of old, then they would be off like a shot into the UKIP camp!

Agreed WfW. In fact "Agreed" isn't strong enough a word.

The sooner the rump of real conservatives poke their heads above the parapet the better. They will be surprised at the lack of grapeshot and amazed at the cheering multitudes who have been waiting for them for such a bl***y long time!

Caratacus: If only there were a few more journalists like Heffer.

Unfortunately the 'rump' to which you refer are cowards and wish to keep their jobs for life! Their attitude of ignoring the views of their paymasters rally sticks in my craw!

Sadly you are right ...

Incidentally, have you read Heffer's excellent bigraphy of Enoch Powell ("Like The Roman")? One of his better ones and well worth a read if you haven't happened across it thus far.
