Apologies for lack of posting today, due to a scheduled power cut for maintenance purposes which over ran, resulting in no electricity for the internet router.

The musings of a freeborn Englishman who is totally disenchanted with the present dictatorial attitude that poses as democracy

Most routers run on a 12V DC supply - certainly the Belkin & Netgear ones I've used do. They use the fairly common co-axial power plugs which you can buy at Maplins. I have some ex burglar alarm batteries which I use for various projects. These will do a perfect job of running a router, so would an old car battery (but note the polarity in either case!). If you use a laptop, and keep its battery fully charged, this should be sufficient for a few posts!
md: Now your getting technical! Technical and I do not mix!
But thanks anyway
