WTF Is This?

According to this report in the Telegraph, the IMF chief (Dominique Strauss-Kahn) suggested that the EU:
"move responsibility for fiscal discipline and structural reform to a central body that is free from the influences of member states."
The Telegraph report continues:
"In a speech in Frankfurt addressing the sovereign debt crisis engulfing Europe once again, he said: “The wheels of co-operation move too slowly. The centre must seize the initiative in all areas key to reaching the common destiny of the union, especially in financial, economic and social policy. Countries must be willing to cede more authority to the centre."
What this call amounts to is one for Member States in the EU to cede total control of their financial responsibility and control of domestic and foreign policy to Brussels.

Sorry, what was that about Global Government, Common Purpose and the like?

It is very sad, but regrettble, however I now firmly believe the time has come for the people to take to the streets. In so doing, to "Take Parliament" and then to 'put a few examples of treason on view'!

Translated: "ignore democracy, do as we say"

The time is fast approaching for a rude awakening for these arrogant pricks. Can't remember who it was in 'Candide' who came out with the line about Admiral Byng ("pour encourager les autres") but I'm beginning to think that there's a message there somewhere...

Caratacus: As I said, the time has come to take to the streets and 'make a few examples'!

In terms of making the Euro work properly what Dominique Strauss-Kahn says makes sense, I think that's the context he means. A single currency needs a single government.

Whether the peoples of Europe will accept that is another question which is why the whole damn thing will come crashing down around our ears.

TBF: Appreciate and accept point one. however point two is the one I was trying to make plus the fact that if my scenario should happen the people will be conned, as was Ireland, into accepting it.
