Sky News reports on the latest podcast by Gordon Brown.
"National Grid has confirmed that it expects supplies to meet demand. I can assure you: supplies are not running out."
Fine, but expecting supplies to meet demand is not the same as stating that supplies will meet demand'. Also coming from the person who declared that 'boom & bust' was something of the past any assurance that 'supplies are not running out' would, if we had any, be taken with a pinch of salt!
"Mr Brown said the public should feel at ease regarding the country's gas situation as the UK owns large fuel reserves in the North Sea, in addition to access to further reserves in Norway and the Netherlands."
And let us not forget the vast reserves we have in our government ministers, who continually emit vast quanities of 'gas'!
