Tim Montgomerie, Conservative Home, echos my post of yesterday in which he says that Cameron talking about the lack of a 'lurch to the right' not being the reason for his failure to gain a majority at the last election is but a smokescreen.
In his article Tim Montgomerie rues the fact that, in his words, 'the potent issue of immigration' did not get the airing it deserved. One has to point out to Tim that logic dictates there is no point in discussing a matter over which you have very little control.
At least Tim acknowledges the fact that one of the reasons for Cameron's failure to secure a majority was that of falling trust, something that began immediately Cameron reversed his promise of a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
