So We Are A Sovereign Country?

The BBC reports that the European Court of Human Rights has ruled that Police powers to use terror laws to stop and search people without grounds for suspicion are illegal, which I believe sort of annuls Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Whatever one's views of this ruling are, should it not be for us to decide such matters?

Just a thought..............

Update: Inspector Gadget has a pertinent comment on this story and links it to the removal of juries from trials. "As with everything else, in terms of personal liberty, the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away!"

You're absolutely right WfW. When it comes to legal matters in Britain the supreme judicial body should reside in Britain using laws originating and enacted in Britain, as I argue in my blog posting Stop and search powers ruled illegal.
