£45Million To The EU - A Day!

Open Europe's press summary for today mentions an article in the News Of The World which reports that data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) shows that Britain's annual contribution to the European Union has risen to £16.3billion - or £45million a day!

Whilst the article mentions that we receive back £9.8billion in grants, meaning that for every pound sent we get 60pence back, I much prefer to highlight that it means our membership costs us £6.5billion a year.

That £6.5billion, I would remind readers, is 'spent' by politicians who have not asked us, the electorate, for permission to do so!

Now what could Britain do with £6.5billion being spent here?
