How True

Benedict Brogan's comment piece in today's Daily Telegraph has been commented on by Raedwald, who highlights one 'telling' passage. The entire article though really brings home the deficit of the socialist idea, one which results in a lowering of standards whilst at the same time creating more problems than it solves.

An even more pertinent comment is one that Brogan makes in respect of the Conservative Party and that is that the policies of the present leader of that party will result in a situation whereby we will have a government that is 'Conservative, Margaret, but not as we know it'.

Therein lies the dilemma for the voter!
There is, thankfully, an alternative, one that will allow Britain independence - national independence, local independence and individual independence.

Thatcher was no better than the socialists'. Her idea being to create a favoured class (homeowners, rather than apparatschicks) and restricting entry to this exclusive club (via NIMBYism, thus lowering standards) so that future generations have to pay ever more ludicrous prices for the same houses (creating more problems than it solves).

Labour kept up the charade as well, they are just as bad.

I am so hard right (economically) that I've gone round the clock. I think that the state should build loads more housing (obviously they can't run a bath, as you well know, so they should get local private companies - builders or letting agents to run the show for a commission), that's then free money for the council (planning permission costs them nothing) so they can then cut other taxes.
