Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, Alasdair Palmer has an article criticising Phil Woolas, the Immigration Minister, together with the government.
He says: "The trouble is that ministers have not the slightest idea of what they could do that would be effective............. Ministers seem to have run out of options for effective action....."
Alasdair, let me give you a hint - membership of the European Union? We - Britain - do not 'control' immigration per se, Brussels does!
Afterthought: Sorry Alasdair, I forgot that you are a 'professional journalist' and as such do not have to pay that much attention to detail!
