Stephen Booth, of Open Europe, writing on Conservative Home states:
"Conservative MPs must put pressure on their Cabinet to resist the temptation of acquiescing to the drip, drip, drip of new proposals and amendments that are bound to come from Brussels over the next few years."
First, the chance of Conservative MPs, with one or two exceptions, remembering the principles in which they are supposed to believe is fairly remote; and second, even if they were to put pressure on their Cabinet, how on earth is the acquiescence to the drip, drip, drip of new proposals and amendments supposed to be halted?
At times one can only despair at Open Europe, for all their good intentions - which ultimately leads one to believe they are no more than a mouthpiece for Conservative Party policy.
