Rail Fares Increase

My thanks to Ian Parker-Joseph who points me to this story in the Mail regarding the planned increase in rail fares.
"The price of rail season tickets could rise already this winter for commuters who are as well facing an increase in annual fares in January 2012, it was revealed today. Regulated fares, which include season tickets, are set to rise by 5.8 per cent in January 2011. But some regulated fares could go up by as much as 10.8 per cent in the new year as train companies have been give the go-ahead by the Government to make the 5.8 per cent figure only an average increase."
Spheroids, our toy government has to find the money to top up the funding required for the EU's TEN-T projects, on which I posted earlier

No doubt, now, we will get the unions demanding salary increases based on the increased income the rail networks are going to get - what a lovely vicious circle!

When will this government - and the bloody media, who should do their 'homework' - begin to tell us the truth?
