An Interesting Stat

Courtesy of Burning Our Money we learn that those earning between £30k and £60k comprise 50 percent of the earning population and pay getting on for two-thirds of the entire tax take.

Probably going to upset a fair number of people now but I have never understood why a family  income of £50k per annum needed child tax credits to survive, but I digress. Just wait till the following sinks in thanks to Call Me Dave's abandoning the negation of the NI increase, amongst other things, in his haste to move to another taxpayer-funded house.

The first by-election, say in a year or two, should be interesting - what? The memory of Labour will be too fresh in the electorate's mind so, if they play their cards right, could we see the first UKIP MP possibly?

"polulation"?

"The first by-election, say in a year or two, should be interesting - what?" I'm looking forward to Thirsk & Malton.

As to the tax figures, at least they've guaranteed themselves the Home-Owner-Ist vote by promising to 'freeze' Council Tax, as ever, they are sucking yet more money out of the productive economy in order to make it even more difficult for young people to buy a house.
