By Heavens, Its Dark In Here

There are those in the blogosphere who, supposedly concentrating on the politics of our country, regularly 'report/advertise' how many 'hits' they receive each week, thereby intimating that without their input the blogosphere would never know what is happening in the political world.

For example, this one considers the fact that this 'quote of the day' about the LibDem's time in government is far more important than the events happening in Eire. The fact that the Lib/Dems process in government could turn any damn colour you care to mention and that it would have no effect on how we are governed by Brussels, seems to matter not.

Then we have another who claims a vast readership, has various publications and hosts the odd radio programme. At times it seems all we hear about are his business activities. He proclaims that he is "Tory but not slavish - the thinking person's blog" - quoting Damien Green. Hows about a little thinking then?

We have an on-going example of a Government minister attempting to stop the election of someone to the leadership of a political party - surely an affront to our political process - yet this story seems to have passed them by. Strange for those who maintain they are the gateway to what is happening in our political world.

The idea which they seem to promote, that there are only three political parties in our country and that anything of note happens within that sphere is laughable to say the least and, more unfortunately, demonstrates 'blinkered vision'.

Now, do not misunderstand me - I am not saying that these two examples should devote all their time to matters EU and the ramifications of our membership of that body, but the odd mention would not go amiss now and again. If they are both so intent on our domestic political 'goings-on', then surely they must realise that that is slowly but surely getting increasingly strangled with the influence of the EU? One can only presume that, to coin a phrase from over the pond, they have their heads stuck where the sun don't shine.

So what say you chaps?

Quite right. Now I'm not being sycophantic but you've done more for the cause of this country than ... well, I shan't go on.

And there are some truly wonderful bloggers who don't go on about their stats and place in the sphere who keep putting out sound wisdom, day after day.

Ta JH, very kind of you.

Ok, I'm confused, as many as 3 political parties?
I suppose the Bilderburg/EU party does come in three presentations to appeal to different demographics (non-working, Guardian reader/environmentalist and banker).
But which are the other two?

Yes I do actually know what you are saying and I basically agree, just making a point.

W42: Make as many points as you like, dear chap!

Seriously, I was tempted to talk about one political party as the Lib/Lab/Con sing off the same hymn sheet but felt it would 'lose' readers.

Cracking post WfW. It's depressing isn't it, particularly from Guido. I thought he was supposed to be the slayer of corruption and the political classes.

It's hard not to conclude that him, and others, have become part of it instead.

Ta TBF. No 'sour grapes' involved as you probably realise - just felt it needed saying!

The Fawkes blog is a joke. He mentions the stats because the advertisers like to know. He has minimal input, and his reputation brings readers to argue amongst themselves - and to look at the adverts. That he can maintain that piece of crap is a sad indictment of this country Still, that is why we're up to our necks in it, isn't it? Mate, it's not sour grapes to get irritated by that.
